World War II had just ended and many service men, including Hubert Ward, set up new businesses. Tortuga Trailers was established in Brownsville, Texas by Hubert Ward.

Hubert Ward and his family moved to Longmont, Colorado to work for Red-Dale mfg. Hubert was pulled away from his own company to design RV’s for Red-Dale.

Hubert and his young family enjoyed camping and Colorado.   Hubert, having owned his own RV business,  just couldn't stay away. The Ward’s moved to Lyons, Colorado and established a new camper company. Warhawk mfg. was established in partnership with the Hawkins family.

During Vietnam, the Hawkins family, devasted by the loss of their son, left Warhawk Mfg..   Hubert needed a new partner and Aspen campers was established on Pearl Street in Boulder,  Colorado.  Aspen campers evolved into hallmark campers as Hubert’s partner left the RV industry.

Due to health issues, Hubert's oldest son, Bill Ward assumed control of hallmark.  Having grown up in the industry, Bill was eager to continue his father's work.  Bill moved hallmark Mfg. to Brighton, Colorado.

Hallmark expanded and added a second building in Brighton, Colorado to keep up with demand.

Brighton grew, so Bill Ward and his two sons moved hallmark north between Fort Lupton and Platteville, Colorado.
